What We’re Doing
Work Package 1
Coordinated by ZHAWKnow your grower
We co-design new substrates with growers, substrate producers and advisors. Each mix is tailored to local resources and the needs of each horticultural sector.Work Package 2
Coordinated by CTICHTest, refine, repeat
We validate each new blend in the lab and at research facilities. We also develop and calibrate a smart sensor system to track how the substrates perform.Work Package 3
Coordinated by INAGROFrom lab to land
We roll out the most promising substrate blends in commercial farms across four regions. Growers use them in real conditions, and we monitor results with our sensor system. Plus, we run field visits and training sessions.

We assess the environmental, social and economic impact of the new substrates. Then we create business models and scaling plans — and navigate regulatory pathways — to make uptake easier.Work Package 5
